Structural Steel Connection Design
At DFK, we provide high-quality structural steel connection services for a wide range of projects. Our designs are in accordance with the Eurocodes as they provide guidelines for the design and construction of buildings and civil engineering works across Europe, including Ireland. Our experience with Eurocodes allows us to provide safe and efficient designs that meet the latest structural standards. We use the powerful IDEA Statica software to design and analyze structural steel connections. This software allows us to quickly and accurately model complex structures, ensuring that our solutions are tailored to each individual project. The software utilizes Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and is capable of calculating the strength, stiffness, and deformation of steel connections under different loading conditions, providing highly precise results. IDEA Statica also generates clear and concise design reports and drawings, which are essential for communicating our designs to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
At DFK, we have developed good working relationships with steel fabricators always aiming at the best solutions from a practical and cost-effective point of view. We understand that reducing waste and limiting the carbon footprint of our designs is crucial to sustainability. That's why we always strive to find innovative solutions that not only meet the needs of our clients but also minimize waste and reduce environmental impact. We are also experts in steel to concrete connections. We use the Hilti and Fisher software to design and analyse these connections. These software packages are industry leaders and allow us to model and analyse various connection options and to select the most suitable post fixing anchor for the project. We are familiar with the Irish Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for these connections, including the FM1, FM2, and FM3 forms. We understand the importance of selecting the right type of connection for each individual project, considering factors such as load capacity, installation conditions, and environmental factors. We have worked on many high scale projects across Ireland, providing structural steel connection services that meet the unique needs of each project.
